China’s FDI January 2023

According to the Ministry of Commerce, actual Foreign direct investment (FDI) into the Chinese mainland increased by 14.5 per cent in the first month of 2023 to RMB 127 billion.


In USD terms, the inflow went up 10 per cent year on year to USD 19 billion.


Actual use of foreign capital in the manufacturing industry surged 40.4 per cent year on year during the period, while the growth rate for high-tech industries was 62.8 per cent.


Growth rates for the high-tech manufacturing and service industries were 74.5 and 59.6 per cent, respectively.


FDI into the country's central region increased by 25.9 per cent in the central region, followed by 21.6 per cent in the western region, and 13.4 per cent in the eastern region.
