China's Trade March 2025

According to data from China's General Administration of Customs expressed in dollars, China's international trade with the rest of the world showed the following trend in the first three months of 2025, with exports increased by 5.8 per cent, imports down by 7 per cent, and total trade up by 0.2 per cent.


In March alone, Chinese exports rose 12.4 per cent from a year earlier, while imports decreased by 4.3 per cent, and total trade expanded by 5 per cent.


China confirms the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) region as the top partner with USD 238 billion in the January-March 2025 period, followed by the European Union (USD 181 billion) and the United States (USD 155 billion).


Trade with the member countries of the ASEAN grew by 6 per cent, with the African countries increased by 2.7 per cent, while trade with countries in the LATAM region, which includes Mexico, Central America and all of South America, decreased 2.7 per cent.


China's trade with the European Union went up by 0.2 per cent, while that with the United States increased by 2.9 per cent.


Imports of products from the European Union to China record a negative trend from the Netherlands (-1.5 per cent), Germany (-5.2 per cent), France (-5 per cent), and with Italy (-10.7 per cent), while the EU average was -6.3 per cent.
