Vietnam GDP 2022 +8.02%
According to the latest data from the General Bureau of Statistics, Vietnam's economy grew by 8.02 per cent in 2022, rebounding from the 2.6 per cent recorded in 2021, supported by a strong domestic retail sales and exports.
Exports in 2022 increased by 10.6 per cent to USD 371 billion, while retail sales increased by 19.8 per cent while consumer prices in December increased by 4.55 per cent compared to the previous year.
The industrial and construction sector in 2022 grew by 7.78 per cent, while the service sector grew by 9.99 per cent and the agricultural sector grew by 3.36 per cent.
Foreign direct investment into Vietnam, one of the country's key economic driver, rose 13.5 per cent in 2022 year to USD 22 billion.
Vietnam is targeting GDP growth of 6.5 per cent and inflation at 4.5 per cent for 2023.
The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) is a political and economic union of ten members, has 667 million people and a territory of 4.5 million Km2; is currently the third largest economy in Asia-Pacific and the fifth largest in the World. The ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) has a combined GDP of USD 3.6 trillion, according to estimates for 2022.
