Among the agreements signed between Italy and Vietnam, there is a predominance of treaties in the areas of Development Cooperation and Cultural, Technical, Scientific, and Economic Cooperation. The years with the highest number of treaties signed are 2003 and 2017. The 2003 treaties pertain to Cultural, Technical, Scientific, and Economic Cooperation, as well as Development Cooperation. The treaties that came into force in 2017 are related to Development Cooperation, including some that also fall under Cultural, Technical, Scientific, and Economic Cooperation, as well as agreements in the areas of Transport and Double Taxation and Fiscal Matters.

In 2011, treaties were signed relating to Cultural, Technical, Scientific, and Economic Cooperation.

In particular, with reference to economic, fiscal, diplomatic, cultural, and scientific relations, 20 key treaties have been selected.

These treaties aim to promote cooperation and mutual support between Italy and Vietnam, starting from March 23, 1973, which marks the beginning of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

The objective of the agreements is to foster economic cooperation through the granting of concessional loans and the implementation of reciprocal investments to stimulate entrepreneurial initiatives.

Additionally, there is interest in collaborating to create, develop, and strengthen a network of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in the Asian market, based on Italy's expertise in this field. Other treaties focus on eliminating double taxation on income taxes and preventing tax evasion; equally significant are those aimed at enhancing the effectiveness of customs control and preventing potential violations, as well as those seeking to establish a legal framework for cooperation based on equal rights and mutual benefit, and those aiming to strengthen tourism relations between the two countries.
